Artificial intelligence is indeed a new term and we are not really familiar with it. Artificial intelligence can be described as the intelligence possessed by the machines in contrast to the natural intelligence that we, the humans and the other animals possess. In computer science, artificial intelligence research can be defined as the study of intelligent agents which are those devices which perceive their environment and act accordingly to maximize there overall chances of fulfilling their goals. Taking examples we play chess on our laptops and we use GPS while travelling which are both the examples of artificial intelligence. Artificial intelligence is being used in a lot more fields like automative, Finance, advertising, Healthcare and education. Education being one of the most important out of all needs to be discussed. Until very recently, students were forced to rely upon their parents and teachers for support. But that additional educational support could not be guaranteed at all times or at all socioeconomic levels. This can be overcome by the artificial intelligence as it is capable of teaching fundamentals to the students who are struggling with the basic concepts. Secondly, individualized learning can be really really helpful if we have students with an array of learning styles. Imagine a class of 20 or more students, it is hard for the teacher to manage the curriculum and it becomes even harder is he has to give individualized attention to each and every student. Again artificial intelligence can be helpful in overcoming such kind of situation. Some softwares like Carnegie intelligence are capable of giving remarks to the assignment a student has done. The teachers can use those remarks for assessment of the student and analyse the overall progress and areas where he is lacking.
All in all there is nothing wrong with using such sort of technology. After all, education is an area which has unlimited potential to utilize all the innovations. Hence, we should definitely give it a try!
